10-25-08 Derby de las Muertas, San Jose Roller Girls-VS-She Devils
This grand event was my first Roller Derby experience. I got invited to face paint the Silicon Valley Roller Derby Girls. I didn't know anything about this bout I was about to see but they were all so nice and explained to me exactly what to expect. If you ever need help understanding the rules to this game, just go, have a good time and ask one of the girls, they'll be the tough looking girls in tiny shorts and roller blades. They may look mean, but trust me, they are the nicest girls I've ever met on roller blades.
Let me introduce you to some of their girls....
#1331- Needle Fever- Her name was given to her because of her love for tattoos. She's a referee for the girls and her idea of a perfect date is going to a comedy club.
#55- Double Knuckles DeVille- A banker by day but a derby girl by night. She also designs her own jewelry and clothing line. A woman of many talents!
#1104- Feisty Irish- A name that goes with character due to her dad's Feisty genes. Watch out for this girl in the rink.
#.357- Cole Cocked- This lady knows the ins and outs of all that is derby so make sure you ask her any questions if you happen to be lost during a bout.
#08- The Beast- She may be a beast in the rink but talking to this derby girl she was a sweetheart. Shhh, but don't tell that to the competition.
#99- PokeHer Haunches- One of the newest members of the team! Hopefully by next bout I'll get to se her in action.
Juge- This team is growing and this is another one of the newest members of The Silicon Valley Roller Derby Girls.
Thu- She is currently not skating with the girls, but is so dedicated to her team that she was there on Derby de Las Muertas to support her girls!
#238- Double Easy- A girl after my own heart, she claims to be a nerd by night. She is an Electrical Engineer but I bet her colleagues have no idea of the trouble she's getting into on by night on her blades!
Dorothy Vader- Another member of the referee squad, but mostly helps to keep the girls in line!
The Se7en Year Bitch- This skater is like the momma of the team. She makes sure the girls are also in line without the referee gear. On and off the rink she's a pleasure to be around.
#218- Tu Madre- Another member of the referee squad to keep the girls in check. Her turn-offs are bad breath and bad spelling or grammar. So if you don't want her to blow the whistle on you pop some gum and learn to spell!
But what would the Derby girls be without their fans to support them? During the event their fans joined in the Day of the Dead festivities and showed their support for the team by getting their faces painted, most of them to match the girls.

10-25-08 Saturday Party, San Jose
Halloween is on its way! Some people are getting in the spirit already and celebrating early. As the festivities come closer the excitement rises. It was only for a quick hour but the kids love face painting so you can imagine I had a good time. Even the adults joined in but as I kept face painting the camera stopped shooting. Here are the pictures of all the princess and superheroes that made the pictures before the batteries died.

10-12-08 Kids Rock! Fashion Show at the Westin, San Francisco
This major event was complete with a fashion runway, cotton candy, popcorn, caricature artist, DJ, dance routines, and of course, face painters. We had a little bit of everything. It was a lot of fun to be a part of this but mostly to see the little faces smiling after they saw their face paint design in the mirror.

10-4-08 The New Adventures of Batman and Spiderman, San Jose
I was invited to join these two superheroes in a face painting extravaganza this weekend! Since it was a Halloween/Birthday bash, these two heroes decided to come in costume as happy clown and sad clown, but never alone, they brought their sidekicks: Pachuca and Crow, in case they ran into any trouble.
Spiderman was very happy (don't be fooled by this Sad Clown costume) to invite all his friends to his party, especially Crow. He asked Crow if he could help him paint his face, and he was more than happy to do so, since they were good friends and he had done him many favors before.
Now their guest list included everyone from the good....
The bad... and the Rock Stars!
With a guest list like this everyone had a blast. There was plenty of food and music to share with their friends, but most important, there was a lot of laughter!

9-28-08 Capitol Flea Market, San Jose
Another face painting weekend at the Capitol Flea Market made memorable by the little faces I paint.
As you all know, its football season and football is just as much a woman's or a girl's sport as it is a man's sport. Don't believe me. Just ask these young ladies who came up to my table asking for matching Raider logos on their cheeks. I was more than happy to do this design, as not too many girls come to me for sport related designs! And they were more than happy to show off their face paint to everyone around. Go Raiders! Go Girls!

9-21-08 Capitol Flea Market, San Jose
The Flea Market is always fun. You can find me right at the entrance by the snack bar face painting.
This weekend's highlights were these 2 brothers who were a bit shy and scared of the face paint but soon realized the face paint doesn't hurt or itch. I did 2 custom designs. Balloons for the balloon lover and a rock guitar for the rock star! They loved their designs!
And the Comic Book Brothers! We have Batman and Spiderman right here at the Capitol Flea Market. Watch out Joker! Watch out Venom! These heroes are here to make San Jose safer. We will stay tuned to these superheroes' adventures and look for them again. NEW ADVENTURES COMING OCTOBER 4TH with none other than our winged and our web making friends.
And who can forget the girl with the green eyes? I couldn't. This design only accentuates them.

Punk Rockers
Keeping the Halloween spirit. Here I am as a Super-green punk rocker. That wig dates back to the 80's. Can you believe it used to belong to my parents when they first got married?
